The Ruritans’ are putting on their 29th annual BBQ picnic event at Long Park Saturday (6-7-2008) from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm or until the food runs out, which usually happens a couple of hours early. As you may or may not know the Ruritans’ a non-profit organization comprised of area volunteers conduct community events in the effort to help promote our community. Proceeds from the BBQ Picnic will be used towards improving the community, as well as funding the College Grants given to local kids aiding them in their educational goals. The Ruritans’ will be serving pork BBQ sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, cole slaw, home made desserts, soda, and water. Adults are $10.00 and Kids are $5.00 for a sandwich, cole slaw, drink, and dessert at the picnic.  For pre-orders or more information please contact us at BBQ@gainesvilleruritanclub.com.
